OnePlus has just started rolling out the latest security update with OxygenOS 9.0.13 and 9.0.5 for OnePlus 6T and OnePlus 6 respectively. These incremental updates bring general bug fixes and system improvements to both devices. We recommend downloading the security updates as soon as they are available since these updates are meant to improve security on your devices.
While both OnePlus 6T and OnePlus 6 are still great devices with top-notch specs, these minor updates improve their overall security and stability. As expected, this OTA update will be rolled out in phases to all the users in the upcoming days. It is advisable to patiently wait for the update to arrive on your device when you will be prompted to download and install the update. Alternatively, you can manually check the update by tapping Settings > System Updates.
Before downloading and installing the update, we suggest you connect your OnePlus device to a reliable WiFi connection. Also, don’t forget to keep your battery charged up to at least 60% for the update to install flawlessly. It is noted that this update only brings the latest security patches and doesn’t include any major major changes.
Moreover, OnePlus has also introduced a feedback tool integrated into community app as part of the stable builds. This tool was under testing in Open Beta for quite some time. OnePlus users can now submit bug reports, product suggestions, and feature requests seamlessly from the community app. It automatically captures the required logs based on the issue reported by the users, and thus allows the developer team to address the issues and track feedback.
