OnePlus updates Camera app with shortcut and minor tweaks

OnePlus is pushing a minor update to the Camera app that bumps up the version number to 2.4.17. The update has just a few changes which we detail below.

The Camera app now allows users a much easier access to the mode-switching menu as part of the update. Earlier it was located in the hamburger menu on the left. Now, users can switch to it simply by swiping up on the main screen. Of course, this is a lot more convenient instead of the hamburger which would stretch the finger a bit more. Another noticeable thing is that the spacing between the up arrow and the zoom setting is a bit more. It could have been more compact. But it’s not unbearable.

There is only one more noteworthy thing in the new changelog. Confusingly it shows a shortcut to quickly take a photo by double tapping the power button. This shortcut was already present for some in V2.

Some users have also reported the swipe up not integrating well with the landscape mode. Let us know your experience with the new update.

OnePlus has also announced last night that they will be launching their OnePlus 5T flagship on November 16 in New York.
