Oppo quietly unveiled two new entry-level smartphones, Oppo A74, and A74 5G. Probably the launch was not planned this way but the Oppo A74 is already official and listed in two stores in the Philippines and also on Oppo’s Cambodia site. On the other hand, Oppo A74 5G is up to grab in Thailand. Let’s have a look at the detailed specifications of brand-new smartphones.
Oppo A74 (4G) Specifications
The 4G variant of Oppo A74 appears to be identical to the Oppo F19. It features a 6.43-inch AMOLED panel with a screen resolution of 1080p+ and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. However, the phone has a gaming mode that boosts the touch sampling rate from 135 Hz to 180 Hz. If we consider text and picture clarity, the variant offers 100% sRGB and 92% DCI-P3 coverage with an in-built fingerprint sensor.
The device is fueled by Android 11 with ColorOS 11.1 skin on top accompanied by Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset. As far now, it may offer a single memory configuration of 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
Moving to the camera department, the phone employs a 48MP primary lens along with a 2MP macro and a 2MP sensor to measure depth. The front side of the device carries a punch hole that houses a 16MP shooter. The video recording is capped at 1080p @ 30 fps for both front and rear cameras.
Oppo A74 4G packs a 5,000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. According to some reports, the full charge of the device may take about an hour and is enough to run the handset for almost 10hrs-12hrs.
In terms of connectivity, it offers a USB-C (USB 2.0) port which is further joined by a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Along with this, it has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth with aptX but NFC is absent.
Oppo A74 5G Specifications
Oppo A74 5G differs from the 4G variant on several bases like it powers Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 chipset (8 nm) chipset. Also, being a 5G modem, it provides a downloading speed of up to 2.1 Gbps.
There is also a slight improvement in the camera. On top of the 48MP main and two 2MP units, the 5G variant adds an 8 MP ultra-wide snapper at the rear module.
Moreover, the display carries an LCD panel with a side-mounted fingerprint reader. This runs at 90 Hz with a 180 Hz touch sampling rate and it claims 100% DCI-P3 coverage. However, Disappointingly, the 5000 mAh battery only offers 18W of fast charging support.
