Samsung Galaxy Note 20 5G and Note 20 Ultra 5G grabs April 2021 security update

Samsung was the first smartphone brand to release the April 2021 security patch to its devices. The consistency of the Korean giant is commendable as it is sending the new security level even to its older flagships.
In mid-2020, the Korean giant launched Galaxy Note 20 5G and Note 20 Ultra 5G running Android 10 with One UI 2.5 skin on top. The duo bagged the Android 11 One UI 3.1 update in mid-Feb of the following year. Moreover, recently the smartphones received a major overhaul that brought new camera features and improvements. Now, the Galaxy Note 20 5G and Note 20 Ultra 5G are grabbing the latest April 2021 Android security patch.

The new build for Galaxy Note 20 5G can be identified with firmware version N981U1UES2DUC8 while the number varies to N986U1UES2DUC8 for Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G. The update does not bring any new features or changes to the user experience. However, the latest security level enhances the system security to keep your device protected against threats.
Reportedly, the update is currently limited only to the USA and is yet to reach the Exynos variant of the Galaxy Note 20 series in European and Asian markets. The global rollout of the security patch is expected to hit soon to every Note 20 unit.
As usual, the build is out via OTA and will reach out to your device in a short while. Alternatively, you can navigate the update manually. To keep this track, head to Settings -> Software update -> Download and install.
