Poco F1 getting April 2020 Security patch update with firmware


The global Redmi Note 9s aka Poco F1 is getting April 2020 Security patch update. The update is based on MIUI Global Stable ROM and brings new security enhancements along with some other fixes. The firmware version is rolling out via OTA update in a phased manner. It will take a few weeks for the update to fully roll out on every unit.

The update weighs 1.9GB in size and improves system security.  There are no more fixes or performance tweaks bundled along with the latest update. According to some user comments on Reddit, the MIUI performs better than the MIUI

However, if you can’t wait for a few days for the OTA, then you can manually install the MIUI update.

We recommend you to manually backup all data on a smartphone before proceeding for the manual installation. Enable USB debugging, and you will need a laptop or PC. You can download the update from the source link below and flash it manually.

The Poco F1 received an Android 10 based MIUI 11 update in India a few months ago.

Poco F1 comes packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, 6GB RAM, 6.18-inch display, and Adreno 630 GPU. There is a dual-camera module featuring a 12-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. There’s a 20-megapixel selfie camera on the front.
