After the announcement of the Redmi Pad, and just before the global launch of the Xiaomi 12T series, Redmi announced a new affordable smartphone – Redmi A1+. The smartphone features some exciting features for the entry-level market at a competitive price of $85 aka KSh 10,345. The smartphone is now available in Kenya via Jumia and is expected to expand across more markets.
Redmi A1 features a 6.52-inch display carrying 1600 x 720 pixels resolution while having 400 nits brightness. The 120Hz touch sampling rate along with the dewdrop notch makes the device worth the price. It is powered by MediaTek Helio A22 chipset, LPDDR4x RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage.
In the camera department, Redmi added an 8MP rear primary sensor along with a 0.3 depth sensor. However, a 5Mp sensor is present on the front for selfies and video calling. The 4G LTE smartphone offers an ample amount of battery standby as it houses a 5000 mAh battery with 10W wired charging. In connectivity, there’s a Bluetooth 5.0, GNSS, MicroUSB and a 3.5mm audio jack. The Redmi A1+ measures 164.9 x 76.5 x 9.1mm and weighs 192g. It is available in Black, Blue and Green colour options.
