Samsung’s flagship smartphones of 2017, Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus now receiving May security patch in the US. The update also brings stability improvements for the SD card, bug fixing and performance improvements. Samsung is also updating its assistant app, Bixby through the same update.
The new software versions are G950USQU1AQEF and G955USQU1AQEF for Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus respectively. The update weighs around 375 MB so we will recommend you to use Wi-Fi.
We recommend you to charge your device and switch to WIFi network before proceeding. The latest build packs all the fixes that Google cured in May Security Patch. It will take 10 minutes to finish the update.
If you are Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus user in the US and haven’t received the update notification yet, you can check for the update manually. Go to Settings -> Software Update for the same.
