Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ starts receiving February 2020 Security Patch

After rolling out the February 2020 Security patch on Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, Galaxy Note 10, Note 10+, and Galaxy S10 Lite, now the Korean giant has made it available for Galaxy S9 and S9+. Samsung is actively rolling out upgrades for its smartphones for the past few months. They even rolled out Android 10 updates for most of its flagship devices, and now they are moving towards the mid-range devices. Recently, the company agreed on rolling monthly security patches to Galaxy Note 10 Lite and S10 Lite devices.

However, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ are receiving the February security patch with the firmware version G96xFXXS7DTAD. It is currently rolling out in the European countries including Germany, Austria, Spain, Switzerland, Portugal, and the Netherlands. The users residing in these countries can manually check the update by heading over to the System Updates menu in the Settings.

We expect the rollout to get wider across more regions in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Galaxy S8 and S8+ also received firmware version G95xFXXS7DTA6 with February Security Patch is also on the roll across Europe.

The updates may take some time to reach each and every unit. We suggest you wait for a few days even if you have not received the Galaxy S9 and S9+.

Both the smartphones recently received the Android 10 based One UI 2.0 update. It has been well received by all the users without any major issues.
