WhatsApp Dark Theme feature rolls out to beta users

WhatsApp, the most popular messenger is late to the party. But as they say, better late than never WhatsApp Dark Theme has been finally rolled out to users, although through beta channel. The latest beta release, WhatsApp 2.20.13 is special as it officially brings the Dark Mode for commons.

As an icing on the cake, WhatsApp isn’t restricting the Dark Mode to just Android 10 or other custom Android skins with system wide Night/Dark Mode. Even the older devices running Android 4.4+ can make use of the Dark edition of WhatsApp.

WhatsApp Theme Options

Those who’re on the latest beta version, the Dark Theme should be visible on WhatsApp Settings > Chats! There you’d see slew of options under Theme Category, which are elucidated below.

  • Light theme: The usual white theme that you have always used in these years.
  • Dark theme: The brand new Theme that you’ve been awaiting since months.
  • System default: WhatsApp identifies the theme used by your Android system (if li ght or dark), and sets it in WhatsApp automatically. It’s useful if you use the latest Android version (Android 10) that supports Dark theme system-wide.
