Xiaomi for the first time, brought the bezel-less portfolio to one of its pocket-friendly devices with the release of Redmi 5 Plus in China. Although, around two months are over since its release, the device is yet to see an official global launch. But, we know that the global launch can happen any day from now. That said, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus has now cleared the Wi-Fi alliance, proclaiming its global release.
Well, that ought to make Redmi fans around the globe joyous, at the same time more restless counting days for the device’s global entry. That’s quite natural as Xiaomi’s budget series Redmi phones were so far offering greater value for the money. Similarly, the Redmi 5 Plus that launched in China packs high-end specs under the trendy bezel-less design body. That too reasonably priced alike the popular Redmi Note 4/4X.
If you haven’t gone through the specs sheet of Redmi 5 Plus yet, the device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Mobile Platform comprising of Adreno 506 dedicated GPU. It features a 5.99-inch full HD+ display of 2160 x 1080 pixel resolution. As an icing on the cake, Xiaomi has implemented the trending 18:9 aspect-ratio on the device.
The Redmi 5 Plus are available in two vatiants, one with 3GB/32GB storage option and a tacked up variant of 4GB/64GB. Internal storage of both the variants can expanded upto 128GB via micro sd card slot.
Note that, aforementioned specs are of the Chinese Redmi 5 Plus. Highly likely the global models are expected to feature the same internals. However, chances of some slight differences are not completely ruled out.
If certain unofficial reports are to be beleived, the Global release of the Redmi 5 Plus is scheduled to happen at the eve of MWC 2018.
