Xiaomi, currently the no.1 brand in India is all set to launch their first smartphone of the year for the Indian market. They sent out the press invites with a big ‘5’ in the centre along with the date of the launch which is 14th February. The ‘5’ in the invite can only mean the recently announced Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus in China.

Though the devices which may be launched are Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus respectively, Xiaomi might rebrand the bigger variant as Redmi Note 5. It’s not new for the Chinese smartphone maker as they have been doing it for years. However, Redmi Note 5 leaks keep on coming every other day which somehow compels us to believe the existence of it (fingers crossed).
Hence, there are still chances of announcing the recently leaked Redmi Note 5 with Snapdragon 636 and dual camera setup in India. Because, India is Xiaomi’s largest market after their home country China and it was also the first country where they announced the Android One Mi A1 last September. Or maybe Xiaomi might announced the Redmi Note 5 later this year.
