Android 12 update: List of eligible devices and release date

Android was established in the year 1998, till now it has evolved remarkably. Now it is the world’s most used Mobile Operating System which has the potential to affect millions of users. Sooner or earlier, every large tech manufacturer offers Android-based devices such as smartphones, television, refrigerators, and so on. Frequent software updates keep on adding new features and improves system stability. In addition, Google has finally announced the latest Android 12.

As always, the latest Android version is first made available to app developers for testing. Then, the beta build is released and stability comes at the last. The version is not available for the public as it is largely unstable and might not be useful for daily use. There are several features that have been added to Android 12.

Google revealed the list of Pixel devices that are eligible to install Android 12 Developer Preview 1. Unfortunately, the Android 12 DP is not available for any other device yet.

The Beta version of Android 12 is expected to be available in May or June that will be more polished and fix bugs in a likelihood.

The Android 12 update is expected to bring major changes like new UI updates, tweaks in widgets, lock screen changes, new Bubble Animations, Expanded Theming System, Anti-tracking Features, more secure and better privacy policy, improved system stability, and many other powerful changes. It will probably be called Snow Cone as Google continues to use dessert-themed names.

Pixel device owners can download and install the OTA update for the Android 12 Developer Preview 1. It will be available till April, thereafter, the public beta version will roll out followed by the stable update around September.
