Google rolls out a redesigned Android Auto

At the Google I/O event in May 2022, the brand revealed a new design for Android Auto. After almost a year, the app is now getting a new design update. The company has officially announced the stable release of the new update at CES 2023. The new update includes a card-based split-screen UI design, so users get to see maps and media navigations together. Android Auto displays app cards in different sizes, but now the redesigned Android Auto displays all shapes and sizes smoothly.

The new design also features a taskbar, the taskbar is used to switch apps between open apps and card apps in a full-screen interface. The apps you used recently will appear at the center of the taskbar. Unread notifications count can also be seen in the taskbar. An additional button for the app drawer and a shortcut for Google Assistant is added.

Moreover, the app shows related cards, including missed calls and messages. Smart replies are shown for the messages. After all, Google will soon make media playback easier to find.

Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy device users can now make WhatsApp calls via Android Auto and the Digital Car Key sharing feature has been added in the new update.
