Update: Google Talk Facing Outage [Now Back]

Today Google Talk is facing outages over the world. Google Talk outage came under surveillance 4 hours ago when users got errors ranging from an inability to access their contacts list to failed attempts at sending messages.

On the other hand Google is investigating the issue and will provide users with an update on the situation at 7:20 PM. The time has since been pushed back to 8:50 AM EDT. This is similar to the global outage experienced by RIM’s BlackBerry messaging users which was caused by a central network failure, something that shouldn’t have been able to happen of course. here are some sdaying’s from google side:

“We’re aware of a problem with Google Talk affecting a majority of users. The affected users are able to access Google Talk, but are seeing error messages and/or other unexpected behavior. We will provide an update by 7/26/12 5:20 PM detailing when we expect to resolve the problem. Please note that this resolution time is an estimate and may change.”
