“Hey Google” hotword is now rolling out to all Android users using Google Assistant

Since 2013, Android users can access Google Now by saying the hotword “OK Google”. Later in 2016, Google introduced Assistant which still uses the same command. However, Google Home can be accessed also by saying “Hey Google” which was even rolling out to some Android users in late October. But, now it has started rolling out to many Android users across the world.

If the Hey Google command is still not activated on your device, then you will get a notification to set up. Opening the notification will take you to train your voice page. You will have to say “OK Google” as well as “Hey Google” alternatively to train your voice. Once done, you can now call access Google Assistant by saying Hey “Google”.

In case you did not receive the notification, you can still manually check or activate if available by re training your voice again. To do so, go to Settings -> Google -> Voice . If you still didn’t get it, then all you can do is wait till the update hits your device.

What are your thoughts on the new “Hey Google” hotword ? Were you satisfied with the unique “OK Google” one or were wishing for more commands ? Let us know in the comment section below.
