Google launches the Daydream platform yesterday at Google I/O 2016. Now today Huawei has officially announced that they will make a Virtual Reality Headset and phones based on Daydream platform and integrated with the company’s new Kirin and Qualcomm chipsets by the end of this year.
Daydream is the bridge the gap between Cardboard and the more expensive stuff like HTC Vive and Oculus. The controller, for instance, allows for calls to action and navigation but it won’t give the full-on “squeeze and pick things up” that comes with the high-end stuff.

The VR devices based on Daydream will arrive this fall with the select group of manufacturers namely, Samsung, HTC, Huawei, LG, ZTE, Asus, Alcatel, and Xiaomi. Among all of them Huawei becomes the first one to officially announce that they will announce their VR headset very soon.

Huawei One of First to Support Daydream, Google’s Platform for
