Motorola Edge 20 and Edge 20 fusion launched in India for Rs 21,499 and Rs 29,999, respectively

Motorola has finally taken the wrap off the much-awaited Motorola Edge 20 series. They have been teasing the same for more than a week now. Motorola guarantees two significant updates (Android 12 and Android 13) and two years of security updates for these devices. The new Motorola Edge 20 is one of the slimmest 5G devices with a thickness of 6.9mm and weighs around 163 grams. Now, let us look into the pricing and specifications of the new smartphones.

Pricing and availability of Motorola Edge 20 and Motorola Edge 20 Fusion

The new Motorola Edge 20 starts at Rs 29,999 for the single variant, with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. While, the Motorola Edge 20 Fusion starts at Rs 21,499 for the 6GB + 128GB variant. And Rs 22,999 for the top-end 8GB + 128GB variant. The sales will start from August 24 for the former and August 27 for the latter. Both the smartphone will be only available on Flipkart as of now.

Motorola Edge 20 Specifications

The Motorola Edge 20 features a 6.7-inch OLED display with a massive refresh rate of 144Hz and a touch sampling rate of 576Hz. It supports 10-bit color, DCI-P3 color space, and HDR10+. The display can go bright as 450 nits and gets anti-fingerprint protection and corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Underneath, it sports the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC and is built on the 6nm process. On the GPU side, it has the Adreno 642L GPU. The chipset pairs with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It runs on Android 11 out of the box based on Stock Android. 

The smartphone has a triple-camera system with a primary 108MP sensor with PDAF and an aperture value of f/1.9. It gets an 8MP telephoto sensor with OIS, 3x optical zoom, and 30X digital zoom. And finally, a 16MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with a field of view of 119 degrees and an aperture value of f/2.2. Upfront, it sports a 32MP sensor with an aperture value of f/2.25 and sits inside the punch-hole. Both the cameras can shoot in 4K 30fps and 1080 60fps. The support for the network includes 11 5G bands, which is the highest in the segment.

All this is backed by a 4000 mAh battery, which supports 30W TurboPower charging. It gets a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and supports face unlock. Other sensors include NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi (2.4, 5, and 6Ghz), Proximity, Ambient Light, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, and Magnetometer. The phone comes in two color options which are Frosted Emerald and Frosted Green. It gets an IP52 rating, i.e., it will protect your device from water splashes.

It gets the same 6.7-inch OLED display but with a lower refresh rate of 90Hz. Another display features present in Edge 20 is also there in the Edge 20 Fusion. Underneath the new Motorola Edge 20 Fusion, it features the MediaTek Dimensity 800U processor built on the 7nm process. The chipset pairs with 6GB and 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The device features a triple-rear camera setup with the same primary 108MP sensor. But it gets a smaller 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 2MP depth sensor with an aperture value of f/2.2 and f/2.4. The wide-angle sensor has a field of view of 118 degrees.

Upfront, it gets the same 32MP sensor that sits inside the punch-hole. The Motorola Edge 20 Fusion gets a large 5000 mAh battery with 30W TurboPower charging. It brings support for 13 5G bands. Other features are the same as the Edge 20. Further, it is available in two colors, namely Electric Graphite and Cyber Teal.
