Oppo K9 5G goes official with Snapdragon 768G in China starting at 1999 Yuan

In a launch event today, Oppo launched numerous product ranging from a smartphone to TWS earphones. It also launched the Smart TV K9 and a smart band. However, the star of the show was the Oppo K9 5G. It is the first 5G smartphone in Oppo’s K line-up of smartphones. The Oppo K9 5G is an affordable device aimed at the mid-range segment in China. The device appeared on TENAA earlier this month with the codename Oppo PEXM00 5G. This device has been launched seeing the rising demand for 5G devices worldwide, especially in China. Other than 5G, Oppo has also equipped the K9 5G with a high refresh rate panel.

Oppo K9 5G Specifications

The Oppo K9 5G sports a 6.43″ FHD+ AMOLED Panel. As mentioned earlier, the device has a high refresh rate panel with support up to 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate. The display has a 20:9 aspect ratio with a punch hole on the top left corner that houses the selfie camera. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G. It is an octa-core processor with support for 5G. Graphical duties are handled by the Adreno 620 GPU. For security, the Oppo K9 5G has been fitted with an in-display fingerprint scanner. At the launch event in China, the brand boasted about the Oppo K9 5G’s gaming performance. The Oppo K9 5G ships with a copper plate, a VC liquid-cooled heat sink, and a multi-layer conductive graphite sheet to handle heat circulation.

Talking about the camera, the Oppo K9 5G is equipped with a rear triple camera setup. The primary sensor is of the 64 MP variety, alongside an 8MP ultrawide shooter and a 2 MP Macro shooter. On the front, the punch hole houses a 32 MP selfie shooter. All this is backed by a 4300 mAh Battery with support for fast charging up to 65W via a Type C USB port. On the software front, the Oppo K9 5G will ship with Android 11 based ColorOS 11.1 in China.

Oppo K9 5G Pricing

Oppo K9 5G will be available in 2 storage variants in China. The 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM configuration will cost CNY 1999, while the 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM configuration will set you back by CNY 2,199. The 5G smartphone comes in 2 color options – Spades K and Wings of Symphony. The former carries a black shade whereas the latter is more on the blue side of the spectrum.

At the time of writing this article, Oppo hasn’t commented on the launch of the Oppo K9 5G in regions other than China. Therefore, we don’t know if or when the device may launch in India.
