“QuadRooter” Affects About a Billion Android Devices

About a billion Android devices are at risk if a new report from security firm Check Point is to be believed. According to researchers at Check Point, devices running on Qualcomm made chipsets are at the risk of this flaw which is said to affect most Android devices around the globe including the latest Samsung flagship the Galaxy S7 and also the BlackBerry DTEK50 which is being dubbed as the “world’s most secure Android smartphone”.

If exploited, these 4 flaws can give attackers complete control of your device and also access to all the information on your device. In order to do this, all they need to do is get you to download a malicious app with no special permission.

Since the problems were first discovered back in April this year, Qualcomm was notified and they have amended 3 of the 4 flaws. The 4th one they say will be amended in Android updates slated for September this year.
