Realme launches Realme 5 and 5 Pro in India, starts at INR. 9,999

Indian budget smartphone segment is a highly crowded space with Chinese OEM’s such as Xiaomi and OPPO having a strong hold. All thanks to their good value performer devices in sub 15K range. The Realme 5 and 5 Pro, both flaunt quad-camera setup in the back and runs ColorOS 6 based on Android Pie . If you want a quad-camera device, which doesn’t burn your pocket then either of the two is for you. The Realme 5 series starts at INR. 9,900 and the high-end variant is priced at INR. 16,999.

Coming to Realme 5 specification a little in-depth. Powered by the latest Snapdragon 665 Mobile Platform based on 11nm process, the Realme 5 is powerful device. It features a Crystal Design in either Crystal Blue or Crystal Purple colour. With the Mini-Drop fullscreen display of 6.5-inches, it offers an impressive 89 percent screen-to-body ratio.

The Realme 5 quad camera setup includes a 12MP primary shooter, an 8MP f/2.25 ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2MP camera for portraits, and a 2MP macro shooter. The device comes with a massive 5,000mAh battery.

As of the availability, the Realme 5 will be offered in three storage variants – 3GB + 32GB at INR. 9,999, 4GB + 64GB at INR. 10,999, 4GB + 128GB at INR. 11,999. The first sale for Realme 5 is scheduled for August 27, 12 noon via Flipkart and Realme.com.

On the other hand, the Realme 5 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 712 Mobile Platform. It features quad-camera setup on the back with a 48MP primary shooter with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP f/2.25 ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2MP camera for portraits, and a 2MP macro shooter. The display is of 6.3-inch full-HD+ screen with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and a dewdrop notch.

The Realme 5 Pro packs a 4, 030 mAH battery with VOOC 3.0 fast charging. The company will bundle a 20W USB Type-C fast charger in the box which is quite welcoming.

It has been priced starting at Rs. 13,999 for the base variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage. The 6GB + 64GB and 8GB + 128GB variants will retail at INR. 14,999 and INR. 16,999, respectively. The device will take place on sale for the first time on September 4 at 12 noon via Flipkart and Realme.com.
