Redmi Y3 receiving Android 10 update in India

Xiaomi launched the selfie-centred smartphone, Redmi Y3 in India in April 2019. The device was meant to receive an Android 10 update in December last year. However, due to some unknown reason the company postponed the plan. Finally, Redmi Y3 is getting an Android 10 update in India along with January 2021 Security patch.

The Android 10 update for Redmi Y3 in India brings build number V11.0.5.0.QFFINXM secured by new security enhancements introduced in January 2021 which weighs around 2.0 GB.

  • Optimization: Updated Android Security Patch to January 2021. Increased system security.
  • Stable MIUI based on Android 10.

The device is receiving Android 10, but it is not eligible for MIUI 12 as per Xiaomi. However, it is expected that the device could soon receive a new MIUI version update soon.

The stable OTA update is currently rolling out in a staggered manner across India. Therefore, it may be accessible for selected users at this time. If early adopters don’t face any major issues, later it will be made available for all device owners.

The smartphone was revealed in late April 2019 powering Android 9.0 (Pie) coupled with Qualcomm SDM632 Snapdragon 632 chipset and Adreno 506 GPU. It flaunts a 6.26 inch IPS LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 shield on the top. You can grab Redmi Y3 in two storage variants i.e; 32 GB + 3 GB RAM and 64 GB + 4 GB RAM. If we talk about the camera, the handset houses a dual rear setup consisting a 12 MP (wide) + 2 MP (depth) sensors and a single 32 MP (wide) lens at the front.
