Samsung has started rolling out new firmware updates and security patches to a list of devices. To be named specifically, the list includes Samsung Galaxy J2, J5 Pro, S5 Mini and A8 (2016). If you own any of these devices, you’ll start receiving the update for your respective device via OTA in the next few days. Samsung will be pushing the updates in several phases, therefore, others may receive this update prior to you and vice-versa.
Samsung Galaxy J2 with model number SM-J200M currently runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS. The recent update comes with build number J200MUBU2AQH1 and upgrades the security level to 01.08.2017. Apart from August security patch, the update brings several bug fixes and performance improvements to the device.
The next device to join this list is Samsung Galaxy J5 Pro. The smartphone with model number SM-J530Y runs Android 7.0 Nougat and the update appears with build number J530YDXU1AQI1. Just like Galaxy J2, the update is scheduled to bring August security patch and performance improvements.
Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini (SM-G800F) on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow is the next device to receive the update. On Galaxy S5 Mini, the users should see the new firmware update with build number G800FXXU1CQH3. The device is getting the August security patch with update for bug fixes and system enhancements.
Lastly, Galaxy A8 (2016) with model number SM-A810F is receiving the latest firmware version. The handset runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and is getting upgr
