Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ starts receiving January 2021 Security Patch Update

Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 10+ on August of 2019 and has been since providing support to the device in terms of software updates. Samsung recently announced that 38 of its existing devices will be eligible for 3 years of Android 8 OS updates. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Family are included in these 38 devices. The Korean giant has now started rolling out the January 2021 update to the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+. This update carries January 2021 Android Security Patch to the device. Security Patches are essential as they fix the vulnerabilities present in Android. The update is currently being rolled out in phases in a few countries.

The January 2021 update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ comes as firmware version N975FXXU6EUA5. As it brings the January 2021 Security Patch, with this update the device will be updated to the latest Android 2021 Security Patch. Apart from the security patch, the brand has mentioned that the update fixes certain bugs. The update increases the overall system stability, performance, and security of the device. Users are advised to stay patient and wait for the update to arrive on their unit of Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ (Model Name: SM-N975F)

Galaxy Note 10+ users have started receiving the January update. However, the update is being gradually rolled out. This method is generally adopted to prevent widespread roll-out in case of any critical bugs. Therefore, it may take some time to reach all users. Users can also manually check if they have received the update or not by navigating to Settings > Software Updates > Check for Updates. Connection to the internet via Wi-Fi or mobile data will be required to download the OTA Update. As a precautionary measure, it is advised to charge the device sufficiently before starting the update process.

Samsung had recently announced that it will soon roll out the January update to several Galaxy devices.
