We have listed all the updates here that Samsung has released for the Galaxy S22 series. You can find the latest update at the top as they are arranged in descending order.

  • [September 14, 2022]: Samsung Galaxy S22 series in the US is getting the September 2022 security patch. The update is live for the carrier-locked version. For T-Mobile’s network, the build arrives with firmware version S90xUSQS2AVHL. Whereas, version S90xUSQS2AVHH is available for Comcast and Xfinity Mobile’s networks.
  • [September 13, 2022]: Samsung Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra are getting the September 2022 security patch update in more markets. Precisely, it is available in  Afghanistan, Egypt, Iraq, Israel, Kenya, Lebanon, Morocco, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Tunisia, Turkey, and the UAE. You can identify the build with firmware version S90xEXXS2AVHD.

In addition, the same update is also rolling out in the US with firmware version S90xU1UES2AVHL. It is available for various carrier networks, including AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, Comcast, and Xfinity Mobile.

  • [September 08, 2022]: Samsung is bringing September 2022 security Patch to Galaxy S22 Series. Starting with the Galaxy S22 Ultra Exynos based in Italy, the update will come live in other parts of the world soon. The firmware version S90xBXXS2AVHD is rolling out to the users. 
  • [September 1, 2022]: Samsung is rolling the Second consecutive update for Galaxy S22 series (S901BXXU2AVH9S906BXXU2AVH9, and S908BXXU2AVH9) based on the August 2022 security Patch in India. However, reports suggest that it is the third update based on the August 2022 Security Patch in European Countries. There’s nothing specific about the changes in the changelog part from overall stability and security improvements.
  • [September 1, 2022]: The Verizon-based units of the Galaxy S22 series are picking up a new software update in the US. This time, the package brings the One UI 4.1.1 features. Precisely, the build adds Private Share which allows you to edit names once files are shared through private sharing, and Smart View which enhances the Multi-View. The changes are a part of the firmware version S90xUSQU2AVHB.

You can now edit names once files are shared through private sharing. Go to Private Share > select sent or received files > select the 3 dots for more options > select Edit name.

  • Smart View

Multi-View has been enhanced to fit your daily usage style. Select the Multi-View controls from the Smart View drop-down list. The Multi-View options window will appear.

  • [August 11, 2022]: Samsung has started pushing a new update for the Verizon units of the Galaxy S22 series. It brings the August 2022 security patch to smartphones. Apart from it, the changelog doesn’t mention any other changes. The update comes with the build number S901USQU2AVG8 for the Galaxy S22. At the same time, the Galaxy S22+ gets the update with the firmware version S906USQU2AVG8. While the top-of-the-line Galaxy S22 Ultra has S908USQU2AVG8 as the build number.
  • [August 8, 2022]: Samsung is extending the availability of the August 2022 security patch to more markets. The build is currently rolling out for carrier-unlocked variants in the US. It bumps the firmware version to S90xU1UEU2AVG8. Besides fixing dozens of privacy and security-related vulnerabilities, it might as well bring some general bug fixes and device stability improvements.
  • [August 1, 2022]: The August 2022 security patch for the Galaxy S22 series is having a wider rollout. The update is rolling out with firmware version S90xEXXU2AVG6 in Latin America. Whereas, the carrier-locked versions of the lineup are upgrading in the US with firmware version S908USQU2AVG6. On the other hand, the build is also available in Russia and South Korea with firmware versions S90xBXXU2AVG6 and S90xNKSU2AVG6 respectively.
  • [July 28, 2022]: The Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra become the first Android smartphone to receive the August 2022 security patch. As of now, the update is rolling out in Europe with firmware version S90xBXXU2AVG6. Besides increasing system security, the build might as well bring some general bug fixes and device stability improvements.
  • [July 11, 2022]: The July 2022 security patch is now released for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra in the US. For the carrier-locked versions, the build arrives on firmware version S908USQU2AVF7. While the firmware version is S908U1UEU2AVF7 for the unlocked models.
  • [July 4, 2022]: The Galaxy S22 series become the first Android smartphone to receive the July 2022 security patch. Arriving on the firmware version S90xEXXU2AVF9, the update is available in Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. More countries will get a hit soon in the coming days.
  • [June 23, 2022]: Samsung is expanding the June 2022 security patch update for the Galaxy S22 series. This time, the update is available for the T-mobile variants in the US. The update arrives on firmware version S90xxxQU2AVF1 for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra.
  • [June 21, 2022]: The carrier-locked models of the Galaxy S22 series in the US are getting the June 2022 security patch update. The build arrives on firmware version S90xUSQU2AVF1 and is currently available on Xfinity Mobile’s network. The other networks and unlocked models could get the update within the next few days.
  • [June 3, 2022]: The June 2022 security patch is now available for the Exynos 2200 variant of the Galaxy S22 series. The update arrives on firmware version S90xBXXU2AVEH which is currently rolling out in multiple European countries.
  • [June 3, 2022]: The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powered Galaxy S22 series are upgrading to the firmware version S90xEXXU2AVEH. The new update with June 2022 security patch is available in the UAE (United Arab Emirates), and it will expand to more markets in the coming days.
  • [May 18, 2022]: A new update is rolling out for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 models of the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. Arriving on firmware version  S90xEXXU2AVE4, the update is rolling out in multiple regions. The build claims to bring improvements to the “overall stability of functions.” That implies it resolves some bugs and glitches, however, there are no precise details.
  • [May 17, 2022]: The Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra are getting the May 2022 security patch in Canada. The build bears firmware version S90xWVLU2AVDC which also might bring some general bug fixes and device stability improvements.

  • [April 26, 2022]: Ahead of the beginning of next month, Samsung is releasing the May 2022 security patch to the Galaxy S22 lineup. The update arrives on the firmware version S901EXXS2AVDD for Galaxy S22, S906EXXS2AVDD for Galaxy S22+, and S908EXXS2AVDD for Galaxy S22 Ultra.

  • [April 4, 2022]: The April 2022 security patch is extending to the Snapdragon variants of the Galaxy S22 lineup. The update is rolling out in various African and Asian countries on firmware version S90xEXXU1AVCJ. Precisely, it is available for users in Afghanistan, Egypt, India, Iraq, Kenya, Lebanon, Malaysia, Morocco, Nepal, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the Philippines, the UAE, Tunisia, Turkey, and Vietnam.
  • [April 1, 2022]: The Exynos variant of the Galaxy S22 series is now getting the latest security maintenance, April 2022 in South Korea. The build is rolling out on the firmware version S901NKSU1AVCK, S906NKSU1AVCK, and S908NKSU1AVCK respectively for Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. In addition, the version also updates 13 stock apps.
  • [March 22, 2022]: The March 2022 security patch for the Galaxy S22 series is reaching out to more regions. The build is available for the carrier-unlocked models in the US through firmware version S90xU1UEU1AVC8.
  • [March 20, 2022]:  Samsung is releasing the March 2022 security patch to the carrier-locked Galaxy S22 series devices in the US region now. The update bumps the firmware version to S90xUSQU1AVC8. It is available for Xfinity and Comcast networks currently and soon will be available for other carriers.
  • [March 8, 2022]: After the Exynos variants, the March 2022 security patch is rolling out for the Snapdragon variants of the Galaxy S22 series. The update bumps the firmware version to S90XEXXU1AVBF.
  • [February 28, 2022]: Samsung is releasing the March 2022 Security Patch to the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra. The build is rolling out in Germany through the firmware version S90xBXXU1AVBF.
  • [February 25, 2022]: The Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra are getting a new update via firmware version S90xEXXU1AVB3. The build is currently rolling out in Afghanistan and Egypt with February 2022 security patch.

The company is releasing the updates in a staggered way. Accordingly, users need to be patient for a few days to get the update. Alternatively, the update can be checked manually from Settings > Software updates > Check for the updates.
