Samsung Internet adds an optional Bookmarks bar

Samsung Internet is now adding an optional Bookmarks bar in the web browser. The app has received several updates and improvements over the past few months including a new privacy functionality and Chrome-style tab grid.

The New Bookmarks Feature

Samsung Internet is one of the popular pre-installed applications due to its customizable interface and speedy Chromium base. Now, Samsung Internet Beta 14.2 is available on the Play Store and has a new option to display a bookmarks bar. The portrait layout, however, does not have much room for the new option on the screen. The setting of the bookmarks browser works on both phones and tablets. The users need to hold down the bookmarks bar to add a page, create a folder, or edit it.

Users can enable the bookmarks bar in Samsung Internet by tapping the menu button on the browser >> Settings >> Appearance. However, it does not include the options to customize how the bar appears in the menu. The usual star-shaped bookmark button present on the Chrome browser is present on Samsung Internet as well. Users can add pages by tapping the star-shaped bookmark button and then move the bookmarks to the ‘Bookmark bar’ folder.

The new feature isn’t so helpful though, as users cannot copy the bookmarks from a PC to Samsung Internet. All-in-all it can be counted as a great addition to Samsung’s DeX desktop mode and its tablets.

The users can download the Samsung Internet Beta from the Play Store to experience the new feature and we expect it to arrive soon on regular channels.
