The Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are getting some software service from Samsung. Both the flagships are getting a July Security Patch and some more tweaks. The update is for the unlocked version and now live for a bunch of countries including the US, the UK, Germany and some more. If your country isn’t on the list, don’t worry, you’ll get it soon.

Now, the update brings some software teaks that improve the camera application, and changes to the wireless charging feature. For the Galaxy S8(SM-G950F), the build number is “G950FXXU1AQG5” while for the Galaxy S8 Plus (SM-G955F), the build number is “G955FXXU1AQG5”. You’ll see the update weighs 750 MB. So it’s not exactly light.

Our customary word of caution would be to charge up your devices well and get yourself a good Wi-Fi and backup if you want to. The Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus have been a boon for Samsung this season bringing in the highest ever sales for the mobile giant. The Korean OEM is now giving the final polish to the Galaxy Note 8  which is due for launch in August.
