OnePlus has recently undergone many changes, including the creation of a new sub-brand – Nord and merging business with OPPO. OnePlus has even started using Color OS in China for its smartphones. For Global users, they combined their OxygenOS and Color OS to provide a better experience. The brand stopped producing flagship killers and moved to create flagship smartphones. With Nord, they manufacture upper mid-range, mid-range, and budget devices. It seems like the brand will launch a new Nord device in the second half of this year. Popular tech journalist and leakster (@Stufflistings) tweeted that “A new OnePlus (presumably a Nord device) visits the IMEI database.” He also has included an image that reveals the same.

The smartphone will have the model number NE2210, where the NE stands for the first two letters of the device. And 22 stands for the year which it will be launched. Further, 10 stands for standard model or a China variant. As said above, Mukul Sharma says that it will be a Nord smartphone. So, we can expect a new Nord smartphone to launch in early 2022.  Apart from this, there is no information about this new device from the brand.

What would be the new NE2210 smartphone?

Apart from being a Nord device, there is speculation that the device will be from the upcoming flagship series, i.e., from the OnePlus 10 series. If it is from the OnePlus 10 series, it is likely to feature the upcoming SM8450 chipset. The same SoC will be named Snapdragon 898 once it launches. In another take, there are speculations that this new device will be the upcoming OnePlus 9T. The brand has hinted OnePlus 9T on social media with the caption ‘Don’t read too much into it.’

People in the tech industry guess that the OnePlus 9T will be launched in the upcoming year (2022) instead of throwing it in Q4 of 2021. If the new NE2210 will be debuted as OnePlus 9T, it might come with the recently announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus SoC. The OnePlus 9 Pro and OnePlus Nord 2 are the top two devices from OnePlus and its sub-brand Nord which is on sale. Anyway, let us wait for a few days before guessing too much about the upcoming device.
