Vivo Y22 with Helio G70 SoC goes official in India for ₹14,499

Vivo has unveiled a new smartphone in the Indian market: Vivo Y22. The device was launched in Indonesia a week back. It falls under the mid-range category and packs every essential feature we look for. Here’s a detailed look at the specifications, features, and other details of the latest Vivo handset.

The Vivo Y22 is built around a 6.55-inch HD+ display with a water drop notch cutout. The panel offers a 60Hz refresh rate and a flat frame design with curved edges. The side panel of the device houses a fingerprint sensor for security. Likewise, there’s an Eye Protection Mode to reduce screen glare and blue light emissions.

Under the hood, it equips a MediaTek Helio G70 SoC paired with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. Also, the memory can be extended by up to 1TB through a dedicated memory SD card slot.  For software, the device runs Android 12 out of the box along with a layer of FuntouchOS 12 on top.

In terms of optics, the Vivo Y22 carries a dual camera setup at the back alongside an LED flash. The module consists of a 50MP primary lens and a 2MP macro unit. At the front, there’s an 8MP snapper to take series and video calls.

In addition, the company ships the device with a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 18W of charging. Besides, the phone also equips a couple of performance-oriented software enhancements: Ultra Game Mode and Multi Turbo.

Price and Availability

The Vivo Y22 is up for purchase across all offline and online platforms. The device costs ₹14,499 for its base 4GB/ 64GB variant. While the upper 6GB/ 128GB is worth ₹16,499. As for offers, SBI Card, Kotak Mahindra, and One Card credit card users can get up to ₹1000 off. On the other hand, online buyers can get a discount of ₹750 using HDFC Bank credit cards and EMI transactions.

  1. The price segment of this Mediatek-powered smartphone is looking decent. The 50-mp primary cam, 5000 mAh battery, Mediatek chip, etc. are cool.
