In the last few months, we have seen that Xiaomi is providing the new MIUI 12.5 update to most of its devices. Even the previous generation that was launched a couple of years ago is receiving the new MIUI 12.5 update. The list of devices receiving the MIUI 12.5 update is very long and now, there is another addition to the list. Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 is the new addition to the list of MIUI 12.5 devices.

Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 is receiving the update with the build number V12.5.1.0.QEECNXM. The is rolling out in China only, it may be coming to the global devices soon. Currently, the update is in the “Stable Beta” phase. The device was launched in 2018 with MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 on board. Later, it received the Android 10 update with MIUI 11 and then MIUI 12. The new MIUI 12.5 will not officially bump the firmware to Android 12, but the users will still be able to use many new MIUI 12.5 features. The update is available via OTA with a total size of 2.4 GB.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 is a unique device that offered a solution to all those notches. It came with a slider mechanism to replace the notch for the front camera. The slider mechanism was pretty impressive, however, not many brands adopted the design language. Still, it was appreciated by many users for its notch-less full-screen display. The device comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 to bolster its performance. The specs on the device still make it a very good option in 2021, and with the MIUI 12.5 update, it will get better. However, there is a possibility that it may not receive the MIUI 13 update in the future.
