Xiaomi MIUI 9.5 will be rolling out to 30 devices very soon

Back in January, Xiaomi promised to update 40 devices to the company’s MIUI 9 software interface. And they did fulfill it by delivering the updates. And now the firm lists 30 devices which will be updated to the latest MIUI 9.5. The latest iteration of MIUI brings some new features and changes which we will be discussing below.

MIUI 9.5 Features

  • Favorites Folder: The Gallery app will now feature a new Favorites folder (say Album). The images favorited by the user(tapping heart icon) will be displayed in this folder. Thus, users can now have easy access to their favorite pictures.
  • New Notification Shade: Finally, users can now reply directly from the notifications.  Also, the notifications will be grouped for each app as well as it will display images.
  • Sound Recording in Screen Recorder: This option was previously present in MIUI 8, but was removed due to some issues. Now, as the problems are solved, it is back again.
  • Mi Browser: The browser app has now been revamped with a new start page and menu tab. Also, the browser’s kernel has been optimized for better performance.
  • Mi Mover: Users now get an option to whether or not to send app data along with the app while using Mi Mover. Also, interrupted transfers can be resumed now.
  • Mi Drop: Added option to resume the interrupted transfers.
  • One-time Data Limit: Users can now set data limit to the WiFi hotspot, thus avoiding heavy usage of data by your friends.
  • App Lock: Users can now set numeric pin, pattern or alphanumeric password to lock apps.
  • Full-Screen Gestures: iPhone X like gestures which might come handy on devices with 18:9 displays.
  • Mi Music: The music player is completely built new from the scratch with new design and layout.

Some other additions include quick dial in the dialer app, new group mode which helps in grouping the apps easier than before and other under the hood changes.
