Xiaomi Unveiled its Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A Devices in China, Comes with MediaTek SoC’s

Leaks and rumors about the Xiaomi Redmi 6 were floating on the web for a long. Finally, the Chinese giant has officially unveiled its two new devices named as the Xiaomi Redmi 6 and the Redmi 6A. These are budget focused devices though the design is not less than a flagship. With these devices, Xiaomi is depicting how AI can help in improving the experience on even a budget device. So let’s know more about the two smartphones.

The device come powered by a MediaTek Helio P22 Octa-Core processor coupled with a PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The device will be made available in two variants: 3GB RAM+32GB ROM and 4GB RAM+64GB ROM. Luckily the device supports expandable storage via micro-SD card. Redmi 6 runs on Xiaomi’s custom MIUI 10 out of the box. It has the support for both Fingerprint Scanner and AI Face Unlock for protection.

In the front, it has a 5.45(inch) HD+ IPS Screen with 18:9 aspect ratio. In the rear, it has a 12MP+5MP snappers with PDAF whereas in the front a single 5MP selfie camera is given. The handset runs on a 3000mAh battery and for connectivity offers Hybrid SIM tray functionality. The price for the Redmi 6(3GB RAM+32GB ROM) is 799 Yuan(8,410 INR) and for the (4GB RAM+64GB ROM) version you have to pay 999 Yuan(10,520 INR).

It is the cut-down variant of the Redmi 6. It comes powered by a MediaTek Helio A22 Quad-Core processor. The device will be made available in one variant only: 2GB RAM+16GB ROM. Similar to its bigger brother it also supports expandable storage via micro-SD card. The handset runs on Xiaomi’s MIUI 10 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. Surprisingly with this device, you have to rely on the Face Scanner as there is no Fingerprint Sensor present on this.

Redmi 6A house a 5.45(inch) HD+ IPS Display with 18:9 aspect ratio. In the camera segment, there is a 13MP rear snapper with PDAF while in the front a 5MP selfie camera is there. The handset runs on a 3000mAh battery and has Hybrid SIM tray functionality. It comes with a price tag of 599 Yuan(6,307 INR). The two devices are China-specific for now and will be made available in Blue, Gray, Gold and Rose Gold color options.
