ZTE Nubia N1 launched to take on the Redmi 4A, priced at Rs. 6999

ZTE is lining up a Nubia phone for the ultra-affordable segment in India. It’s called the Nubia N1 Lite. It is a slimmed down version of the Nubia N1 launched back in 2016 at Rs. 11,999. It will be available in Black Gold Color combination which is a rarity in smartphones in this segment. The cherry on the top is a uni-metal body just like the Redmi 4A.

About the specs of the smartphone, we have a spacious 5.5 inch HD display with 267ppi. Inside we have an MT6737 SoC where we would have liked a better performing Snapdragon chip. The phone has what the company calls soft-light flash. Also in the rear camera is an F 2.0 aperture which allows more light and hence better pictures. This is in contrast to other competitors which use F 2.2 apertures.

Other key specs include 2 GB of RAM along with 16 GB of storage which thankfully can be expanded further. The battery is 3000 mAh which is big enough but not as big as the Redmi 4A. Nubia states you can get 500 hours of standby time and 24 hours of talk time out of it. You will also get a fingerprint sensor which is fast enough. The software is Android Marshmallow with stock Android experience.

In the connectivity department, you have the regular stuff. Dual-SIM card slots (hybrid setup), 4G with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and micro USB support.
The chief competitor of the Nubia N1 lite seems to be the Redmi 4A which has a smaller screen of 5 inches but a better processor namely the Snapdragon 435 and a remarkably bigger battery of 4100 mAh. It is also priced lower than the Nubia N1 Lite.

The Nubia N1 Lite will be available on Amazon from May 22, 2017, at 12:00 PM priced at Rs. 6,999. Among other recent developments, Nubia also launched the M2 Lite earlier this month in an altogether different segment.
