Today, Google has announced that the Smart Reply feature is now being added to Android Messages. The Smart Reply feature was introduced a couple of years ago with Google Inbox and was later added to Gmail, Google Allo and Google Assistant.
The information was made public through a tweet via Project Fi’s official Twitter account. The tweet says that Smart Reply feature is now available on Android messages for Project Fi users, at least for now. The feature could be added too Messages app in the near future through a software update. Just last week, Google’s Gboard beta APK revealed that the Smart Reply feature might be added to the Gboard app on Android.
If you’re not familiar with the Smart Reply, its an AI based feature that suggests multiple responses to messages received and lets you quickly reply with a few taps. However, if you don’t want this feature to bother you, it can be turned off by toggling into Settings> Android Messages> Smart Reply.
Smart Reply is now live on the Android messages app, you can download the updated app from the Play Store.
