Changelog

  • Updated Android security patch to 2021-08
  • Added one-hand mode UI function
  • Fixed randomly P-sensor failure after upgrading to Android 11
  • Support dynamic themes

As per the changelog, the update brings the August 2021 Security patch. Asus has added the one-hand mode feature, which was missing with the Android 11 update. They have also added support for dynamic themes which enables support for an infinite number of themes. The primary highlight of the update is that it fixes the problematic issue with the Proximity sensor. Many users were reporting the proximity sensor issue after the Android 11 update.

The update is rolling out via OTA (Firmware Over the Air) across random smartphones based on the serial number. Being a staggered update, it may take a few days to few weeks for reaching your smartphone. To check if the update has reached your device, head to Settings > System and About Phone and check if the update is available on your device. Currently, the manual links of the update aren’t available. So, you may have to wait for the FOTA update. Do let us know if the Proximity sensor is working after the new update.
