Asus ROG Phone 3 grabs a new software with April 2021 security patch

Asus is actively sprinting the update train for its popular Republic of Gamera (ROG) smartphones. After ROG Phone 5, Asus ROG Phone 3 is driving in some improvements in the system and some known big fixes accompanied by a month-old, April 2021 Android security patch.

The new software for Asus ROG Phone 3 ZS661KS bumps the firmware version to 17.0823.2104.147. Along with the security patch, the update brings a fix for the issue where Launcher keeps on crashing occasionally. Check the below changelog for more details about the fresh package.

As usual, the OTA build is rolling out in batches, making it take more time to hit every unit. If you have an Asus ROG Phone 3, you will receive a pop-up notification anytime soon. Alternatively, you can flash the firmware via Settings app > System > System updates > Download and install.

The smartphone holds a 6.59-inch AMOLED display powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ Chipset. It is available in three storage variants i.e; 128GB/8GB RAM, 256GB/12GB RAM, and 512GB/16GB RAM. There’s a triple rear camera module consisting of a 64MP primary, 13MP ultrawide, and a 5MP macro lens. At the front, the device has a single 24MP shooter.
