Asus ROG Phone 5 is receiving February security patch update along with some other fixes

Asus is rolling out a new update for ROG Phone 5 that arrives with February 2021 security patch. Recently, Asus rolled out the Android 11 update for Zenfone 7.

The New Update

The new software update for Asus ROG Phone 5 (ZS673KS) is now actively rolling out and it brings several performance improvements. It carries the firmware version number 18.0830.2102.88. As per the changelog, the update optimizes fingerprint recognition which faced an issue in its functioning. It comes along with February 2021 security patch that enhances the system modes, optimizes camera user experience, improves system stability, et cetera.

The latest update for the Asus ROG Phone 5 is rolling out in batches and may take a few days for the FOTA update to reach the users. The users can also manually check for the update by navigating to the device’s Settings > Software Update > Download and Install.

A quick recap about the specifications of the smartphone, it features a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 processor which is paired with up to 12GB of RAM.
