World’s largest smartphone manufacturer, Samsung is now working to make its name in the Smartwatch world. The company is investing its resources to keep every device up-to-date, may it be tablets, smartphones or smartwatches. The Korean giant is rolling out major software updates to the original Galaxy Watch and the Galaxy Watch Active.
The new update among smartwatches brings system stability and reliable performance improvements with numerous Galaxy Watch 3 features. Just like Watch 3, the update enables you to view images in notifications from the paired smartphone. Moreover, it provides support for AR Emoji and Bitmoji with voice guidance for workouts. Once updated, you will be able to take long screenshots and voice guidance through a connected Bluetooth headset.
The download size of software update for both watches is approximately 290 MB. The update for the Galaxy Watch brings firmware version R810XXU1FUB6, whereas the Galaxy Watch Active update bags firmware version R500XXUF1UB5.
The new software updates are currently unfurling in South Korea and the US, but is soon expected to be available in other regions as well.
Samsung Galaxy Watch
The August 2018 launched Galaxy Watch by Samsung flaunts a super AMOLED 1.3 inch screen with Corning Gorilla Glass DX+ shield. The watch is powered by Tizen OS 4.0 out of the box which is up-gradable to Tizen OS 5.5 paired with Exynos 9110. Galaxy Watch is accessible in two storage variants i.e; 4 GB + 768 MB RAM and 4 GB + 1.5 GB RAM. It packs Li-Ion 472 mAh, a non-removable battery that supports Qi wireless charging.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Active
The Active watch was revealed by Samsung a year later than Galaxy watch in February 2019. It features a 1.1-inch screen with a Super AMOLED display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The smartwatch is fueled by Tizen OS 4.0 coupled with Exynos 9110 chipset. It provides 4 GB + 768 MB RAM of internal storage and 230 mAh battery backed up with Qi wireless charging.
