Global Mobile Awards: Samsung Won 3 Awards, Nexus 7 Best Tablet

Global Mobile Awards are now announced and Samsung is all above other companies as company won 3 mainstream awards. Head over to wording below to know the the winners of the 18th Annual Global Mobile awards, held at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Before continuing ahead we let you know that iPhone gave tough competition to Samsung and its devices to get to the first spot. Now detailing: Samsung has won three awards which consists ‘Device Manufacturer of the Year’ and ‘Best Smartphone’, last one is ‘Best Mobile Enabled Consumer Electronics Device’.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is named as best smartphone by the GSM Association judges, while the Galaxy Camera snatched the title of best mobile enabled consumer electronics device. Until last month Galaxy S3 has achieved global sales of more than 40 million units since going on sale last May. Galaxy Camera went ahead of all other competitors due to its 3G/4G and Wi-Fi connectivity, and it also runs the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system.

Last one and most important award of ‘Device Manufacturer of the Year’ is also clinched by Samsung.

Coming onto Tablets where Asus Nexus 7 gained best tablet award. Other standing at Global Mobile Awards are as follows:

  • Best Feature phone or entry level phone: Nokia Asha 305
  • Best Mobile Tablet: Google and Asus for Nexus 7
  • Device Manufacturer of the Year: Samsung
  • Best Mobile Enabled Consumer Electronics Device: Samsung Electronics for Samsung GALAXY Camera
  • Best Mobile App for Consumers: Facebook
  • Best Mobile App for Enterprise: Evernote
  • Best Application using Network APIs: Bharti Airtel Limited for my airtel app
  • Judges Choice – Best Overall Mobile App: Waze
  • Smartphone Application Challenge: AT&T for Application Resource Optimizer (ARO)
