Google Pixel devices starts receiving September 2022 Security Patch update [Other Fixes Included]

Google is rolling out September 2022 Security patch for the Pixel smartphones including Pixel 4, Pixel 5 and Pixel 6 Series. The update fixes general bugs and improves the stability of smartphones. The update brings a fix for the Pixel 6a Fingerprint Sensor Issue, and wireless charging mode issue on Pixel 4, Pixel 5 and Pixel 6 devices.

Apart from the security patch, the battery drain issue after Android 13 seems to be fixed via this update. Moreover, the issue of Bluetooth Connectivity with certain accessories seems to have got a fix.

Note:  Pixel 6a devices will receive the update later this month.

Battery & Charging
  • Fix for issue occasionally causing increased battery drain from certain launcher background activities
  • Fix for issue preventing wireless charging mode to activate in certain conditions *[1]
Biometrics
  • Additional improvements for fingerprint recognition and response in certain conditions *[2]
Bluetooth
  • Fix for issue occasionally preventing certain Bluetooth devices or accessories from connecting
User Interface
  • Fix for issue occasionally causing notifications to appear truncated on the lock screen
