Nokia 8.1 Plus will feature a punch hole display, confirms 3D CAD renders

HMD Global, the company behind Nokia branded smartphones have successfully revived the long-dead phone manufacturer’s fame. Their portfolio of smartphones is getting better every time they announce a new smartphone. Going by the industry trend, the firm’s upcoming Nokia 8.1 Plus will feature a punch hole display, confirms 3D CAD renders by the well-known leaker @OnLeaks.

The very first leak of Nokia 8.1 Plus clearly shows the phone’s 6.22-inch display with a punch hole for the camera at the top left corner. Also, the chin of this device is way thinner than any Nokia-branded smartphones released yet. However, the company still manages to keep its logo on the chin. This smartphone will measure 156.9 x 76.2 x 7.9 mm in size according to the source. If we consider the camera bump, then the thickness will increase to 9.5 mm.

At the back, the phone will feature a dual camera setup powered by Zeiss optics. Other than that, it will sport a traditional fingerprint sensor below those cameras and a headphone jack at the top. Moreover, the right side of the phone will have power and volume keys and the bottom will feature a USB type-C port. As for design, it will have a glass back like any other smartphones out there.

The upcoming Nokia 8.1 Plus is expected to be a mid-range smartphone rather than a flagship. And it will be part of the Android One programme like any other Nokia-branded smartphones since MWC 2018.
