Nova Launcher beta v5.4 comes with Sesame Shortcuts adds custom shortcuts into apps

Nova launcher is once again adding a new feature to try for its beta testers. Interestingly, this time it’s a new app integrated into the Nova Launcher itself. The new app is called Sesame Shortcuts. Sesame shortcuts is a relatively less popular app. But what it does is worth giving a chance.

Sesame Shortcuts lets you make custom shortcuts to specific sections in an app. The only catch here is that it supports 20 apps. Some of them are the most popular ones like Netflix, Spotify, WhatsApp and more.

In Nova Launcher, these shortcuts will appear in the app search pane. Alternatively, these shortcuts will also be available as launcher shortcuts on the home screen. Sesame Shortcuts allows you to quickly chat, email or text, a specific contact just by typing a shortcut. It also allows you to create your own custom shortcut. The search feature learns from your regular usage and displays results that you are more likely to use.

At the moment, the new feature is still in beta, so you’ll have to sign up as a beta user to access the new update. But Sesame Shortcuts is a separate rate free app and it has a 14-day free trial but will still be free after the period is over.
