OnePlus 9 Pro receives Google ARCore support despite no official listing

The OnePlus 9 series is the current premium flagship by the company. The Chinese giant is sending constant updates to the lineup to enhance its performance. However, the users still seem to experience some bugs and issues, including missing support for Google ARCore. This will not be an issue anymore for OnePlus 9 Pro users.

For those unaware, AR aka Augmented reality, permits user devices to use physical objects in virtual reality to create a mixed actuality situation through the phone’s camera, motion sensors, light sensors, and processor.

Earlier, with the absence of ARCore support, features such as Google Maps AR navigation and third-party games and apps did not function on the OnePlus 9 lineup.

The OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro recently drive in the OxygenOS 11.2.4.4 update, which brings the AR support for the device. However, this was not mentioned in the changelog and neither listed in the ARCore officially supported devices.

Now that the OnePlus 9 Pro units are getting Google ARCore support, hopefully, it should not take much time to reach out to other devices of the family as well.
