OnePlus 9R starts receiving OxygenOS update

Launched in March last year, the OnePlus 9R is one of the best value for money devices. OnePlus launched the OnePlus 9R in the Indian market especially for gamers with Snapdragon 870. It came with Android 11 based OxygenOS 11 out of the box and the company promised 3 years of major system updates for the device.

OnePlus is yet to release the first major Android update for the device, however, it is receiving monthly system updates. Today, OnePlus released the January month update for the OnePlus 9R on its official forum. The update bumps the OxygenOS version to with firmware number This is a minor security update, so, it doesn’t bring any new major features to the device. It brings the latest January security patch to the device along with some system stability improvements.

OnePlus 9R is one of the best choices among the three devices launched by OnePlus last year. It features Snapdragon 870, which is the best chipset from Qualcomm as the flagship Snapdragon is having a huge throttling issue. It offers a 6.55 inch AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution. The camera setup on the device also makes it a great buy even today. The rear panel features a quad camera setup with a 48 MP main sensor and a 16 MP ultrawide sensor. The other two sensors on the back panel are a 5 MP macro and a 2 MP monochrome. On the front, the device features a 16 MP selfies shooter with video recording capability up to 1080p@30fps.
