Oppo A9 starts receiving June 2020 Security Patch update

Oppo has started rolling out the June security patch update for Oppo A9 smartphone. The device was released almost an year ago and currently runs on Color OS 7 based on Android 10. However, the reports suggest that this new update is currently rolling out with ColorOS 6 based on Android 9 Pie. The changelog for the update did not specify any new or additional features besides the regular security patch update to June 2020.

The latest update for Oppo A9 comes with version number CPH1938EX_11_A.45 and weigh approx. 400MB in size. You should install this update as soon as you receive a system notification that a new update is available. As a regular security patch update, this one also addresses and brings a fix to vulnerabilities and bugs that may compromise your security.

The update is rolling via OTA (over-the-air) in several stages and may take some time to reach all the users. If you did not receive a system notification, you can manually check for the update by tapping Settings > About phone > System Update.

As a reminder, make sure that your Oppo A9 has enough battery charge (at least 50-60 percent) or connected to a power source before you begin downloading and installing the update. Also, if you’re on a limited data plan, it is advisable to connect your device to a secure and reliable WiFi to install the update seamlessly.
