Oppo is an average student in the class of updates. As a new year surprise, the company announced its Reno 5 4G flagship with Android 11 based ColorOS 11.1 pre-installed. With the latest stable Android channel and skin, the device is also inculcating the current safety maintenance level, April 2021 security patch.
The new build for Oppo Reno 5 4G can be identified by firmware version number CPH2159_11_A.25 which weighs around 740MB in size. The fresh software update protects the smartphone from 21 exposures and vulnerabilities from various potential attack vectors. Also, it includes fixes for 30 vulnerabilities that Google term as severe or critical.
As normal updates take place, this as well is having a phase-wise rollout. If you own an Oppo Reno 5 4G, you will receive the latest package shortly. As always, you also have an option to track the build manually by navigating to the device’s Settings -> Software Update -> Download and Install.
