Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 & Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 5G chipsets goes official

Most of the specifications of both the chipsets were already live via some leaks and rumours, but the company made them official today. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 is built on 4nm and 6nm processes, respectively. The 5G chipsets offer various improvements over the Snapdragon 600 series chipset and Snapdragon 400 Series chipsets, comparatively.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 Specifications

The Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 comes with an octa-core CPU featuring 4x Cortex-A78 cores and 4x Cortex-A55 cores along with an unknown Adreno GPU. As per Qualcomm, the chipset offers a 35% improvement in CPU and a 40% improvement in GPU.

The GPU is capable enough to process H.256 and VP9 decoding, HDR Playback Codec support for HLG, and HDR gaming compatibility. The chipset supports up to 12GB  LPDDR5 RAM at 2750MHz frequency. It couples Snapdragon X62 5G Modem-RF system which is capable to handle both mmWave and sub-6GHz 5G networks.

In-Camera segment, the Snapdragon Gen 1 chipset houses a Qualcomm Spectra 12-bit Triple ISP with support for a 3x 13MP sensor, 2x 25MP + 16Mp sensor or a 48MP sensor. It supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ fast charging.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 Specifications

Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 is built on a 6nm process and offers 15% improved PCU performance and 10% increased GPU performance. It is an octa-core chipset coupling 2x Kryo Prime CPUs (Cortex-A78), and six-kryo Efficiency CPUs(Cortex A55). It houses Snapdragon X51 Modem-RF System and comes with Qualcomm FastConnect 6200 System.
