The mobile data traffic in India has been increasing since the introduction of Jio with their affordable plans. Which ultimately also made other operators to lower their price to compete and stand in the market. According to the report, 4G/LTE subscriptions in India was at 20 percent in 2017 and will increase to 80 percent by 2023. Which means the monthly data usage per smartphone will leap from 5.7 GB in 2017 to 13.7 GB by 2023.

The report also notes that India was the second highest country in terms of net mobile subscription additions in the first quarter of 2018 with 16 million new subscriptions. And by 2023, the total smartphone subscriptions in the country will increase by 2.5 times to exceed 975 million.

As for worldwide, North America will lead in the 5G cellular network with 50 percent of all mobile subscriptions by 2023. Because all major US carriers are already set to deploy 5G between late 2018 and mid-2019.
