Facebook has recently introduced a new update for its Messenger App to better organize your home screen. This update, in general, brings some visual changes that make navigation around the application quicker and easier than ever before.
This update is being rolled-out to both Android as well as iOS devices. The company wants users to quickly and easily navigate within app to find what they want.
With this recent update, you will find New tabs for your Messages, Active Users, alongside the new Groups tab at the top of your Messenger home screen. While tabs at the bottom slightly vary in Android and iOS platforms. In Android app, you will see Home, Calls, Camera button, People and Games depicted by icons only, where as, iOS app now has written descriptions as well, including Home, Calls, Camera button, People, and Games.
Also, the Messenger app now shows a red dot that appears when one of the sections in the app has new activity. For example, if you missed to read one of your messages, you’ll see the dot next to the Home icon on the bottom. If you missed a call, the red dot will appear next to the Calls tab on the top of your home screen.
In the near future, Facebook will also be adding the new Discover tab, which helps users connect with businesses, places, and services.
