[Update: December 2023 Security Update For Galaxy Z Flip/Fold 3] Galaxy Z Fold 3 / Z Flip 3 Updates Tracker

In August 2021, Samsung launched the much-awaited Galaxy Z Fold 3 powering Snapdragon 888 5G. The device features a 7.6-inch Foldable Dynamic AMOLED display paired with up to 512GB storage and 12GB RAM. Android 11 based One UI 3.1.1 runs the device out of the box. It carries a 12 MP triple rear camera while the front offers a 10 MP sensor on the cover display and a 4 MP under-display snapper. They also launched the Galaxy Z Flip 3 along with the device. It has the same chipset that pairs with 8GB of RAM and 128/256GB of storage. The device features two 12MP sensors on the rear and a 10MP sensor to the front.

• [December 26, 2023]: The One UI 6 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is now available for European users. The update comes with firmware version F926BXXU5GWL1 and packs all the security fixes from the December 2023 security patch.
• [December 18, 2023]: The Android 14 update is now available for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in the US. The update for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 comes with firmware version F711U1UEU5HWL1, and it is available on US Cellular’s network in the country. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is getting the update with firmware version F926U1UEU4HWL1. The updates also bring the December 2023 security patch to both phones.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3’s carrier-locked variant gets firmware version F926USQS4FWG2 and the factory-unlocked Galaxy Z Fold 3 comes bearing firmware F926U1UES3FWF3.
• [June 28, 2023]: The June 2023 software update for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 in Europe is rolling out with the firmware version F711BXXU5EWF1.
• [February 21, 2023]: The Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3 are now also getting the update to One UI 5.1. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 receives an update to firmware version F711BXXU4EWB1. And for the Z Fold 4, firmware version F926BXXU3EWB1 is ready for download.
• [November 07, 2022]: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and Z Fold 3 are receiving November 2022 Security Patch via the firmware update F711U1TBS3EVJ2 and F926U1TBS2DVJ1, respectively. The update is now available in the US.
• [October 12, 2022]: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is upgrading with October 2022 Security patch. The update is rolling out with firmware version F926BXXS2CVIG in India. In addition, it is also available for the unlocked version of the device in the US with firmware version F926U1TBS2DVI4. The patch resolves 47 security vulnerabilities. Besides, it might as well bring some general bug fixes and stability improvements.
• [September 20, 2022]: The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 carrier-locked started receiving the September 2022 Security patch. The firmware version F711USQS3DVHD is rolling out to Comcast and Xfinity Mobile’s networks.
• [September 19, 2022]: The Android 12-based One UI 4.1.1 update is now reaching out to the international variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 3. The update is rolling out in the US for Comcast and Xfinity Mobile’s networks with firmware version F926USQS2DVHE. With new features, it packs the September 2022 security patch.

Make calls to your favorite contacts, dial back missed calls, and even reply to texts with voice-to-text and emojis right from the Cover Screen. And you can now take more control over your device with additional Quick Setting options, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth®, airplane mode, and flashlight.

You can now add pairs or groups of apps to the Taskbar, allowing you to access your favorite app pairs all at once.

• [September 6, 2022]: Samsung is releasing the Android 12L update to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in South Korea. The OS is tossed with One UI 4.1.1 on top with firmware version F926NKSU1DVH9. FYI, Android 12L is a “feature drop for Android 12.” It is specially crafted for devices with large screens like foldable smartphones, tablets, and Chromebooks to make it more usable.
• [August 3, 2022]: The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is now picking up the August 2022 security patch update. The build is rolling out with firmware version F926BXXU1CVG8, which weighs 440MB to download. In addition, the package brings some performance improvements as well. Moreover, it may update a handful of Samsung stock apps, including PENUP, Samsung Health, Global Goals, and more.

This time, the update is rolling out to the carrier-locked version of the smartphone in the US. • [June 30, 2022]: Samsung has started pushing a second update for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 smartphone. The first update brought camera improvements along with the June 2022 security patch. The new update is live in Europe and comes with the firmware version F926BXXU1CVF1. Samsung has improved the stability of the device by fixing more bugs. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 users in Europe will receive the update as an OTA update.
• [June 17, 2022]: The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is receiving the June 2022 security patch in Europe via firmware version F926BXXS1CVEE. The build also brings some camera performance improvements. To be more precise, the Night Portrait feature is improved and the app now supports the telephoto camera in the stock camera app’s Pro mode.

• [May 2, 2022]: Samsung is releasing the May 2022 security patch to the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3. The build arrives on firmware versions F711U1TBS2CVD4 and F926U1UES1CVD4, respectively. For now, it is available for almost all US carrier-unlocked networks, while the rest of the regions will follow later.
• [April 12, 2022]: The Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 are upgrading to the current security maintenance with F711U1TBS2CVC9 and F926U1UES1CVC9 firmware versions. The April 2022 security patch is rolling out in the US for the unlocked versions of the devices.
• [March 29, 2022]: The carrier-locked models of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 in the US are getting a new update on firmware version F711USQU2CVC7. It brings the similar One U.4.1 package with March 2022 security patch.
• [March 23, 2022]: A similar package with One U.4.1 and March 2022 security patch is extending to the carrier-locked models of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in the US. The update is available on Comcast and Xfinity Mobile’s networks via firmware version F926USQU1CVC5.
• [March 16, 2022]: Samsung is releasing a new update for Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3. The build is rolling out in South Korea and Europe for Z Flip 3 via firmware version F711NKSU2CVC5 and  F711BXXU2CVC5 respectively. Meanwhile, Galaxy Z Fold 3 users in South Korea are upgrading with version F926NKSU1CVC5. The update packs the March 2022 security patch and bumps the skin version to One UI 4.1.
• [February 16, 2022]: The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is getting a new update that integrates February 2022 security patch. The build arrives on firmware version F711BXXU2BVA9 in Africa, Asia, Australia, and Europe. While the version differs from F711BXXS2BVAA in some regions.
• [January 31, 2022]: The international variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is getting a new update on the firmware version F926BXXU1BVA9.  The update is rolling out in various Asian and European countries. There are no noticeable changes but it carries a bunch of bug fixes, improves device stability, and enhances security.
• [January 17, 2022]: The January 2022 security patch is extending to more regions for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3. It arrives on the firmware versions F711BXXS2BUL8 and F926BXXS1BUL8 for both devices respectively.
• [January 14, 2022]: Galaxy Z Fold 3 is getting updated with the current security maintenance, January 2022. The update is rolling out in the Caucasus region, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Ukraine via the firmware version F926BXXS1BUL8.
• [November 8, 2021]: The November 2021 security patch is expanding to the US variants of Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. For the Z Fold 3, the update is rolling out via firmware version F926USQS1AUJ6 for the carrier-locked version and F926U1UES1AUJ7 for the unlocked version. • [November 4, 2021]: The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 are grabbing the November 2021 security patch. The build arrives on RP1A.200720.012.F926USQS1AUJ6 and RP1A.200720.012.F711USQU2AUJ6 for Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 respectively.  The package could also carry some general bug fixes and device stability improvements.
• [October 20, 2021]: The October 2021 security patch is extending to the international version of Galaxy Z Flip 3. The update arrives on the firmware version F711BXXU2AUJ7. Besides the patch fixes, the build can also carry some general bug fixes and device stability improvements.
• [October 6, 2021]: The Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 are grabbing a new update that adds October 2021 patch. The build arrives on version number F711U1UES2AUI5 and F926U1UES1AUI5 respectively. Presently, it is rolling out to the unlocked variants of the devices in the USA. As per Samsung, the patch fixes over 60 privacy and security-related vulnerabilities. Also, there are chances the build could pack RAM Plus features, general bug fixes, and device stability improvements.
• [September 28, 2021]: Samsung has started pushing a new update for the Galaxy Z Flip 3. It is the first security update for the Galaxy Z Flip 3. The new update is rolling out for the T-Mobile units in the USA and brings the September 2021 security patch. The update comes with the build number F711USQU2AUI4. It has fixed more than 60 vulnerabilities on the device. Head to Settings and check for updates to install the latest update on your T-Mobile unit.
• [September 6, 2021]: The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is receiving its first software update in Australia right now. Arriving on the firmware version F926BXXU1AUHF, the build carries the September 2021 security patch. Though the company has not yet detailed the patch, it could carry general bug fixes and device stability improvements.

As the update is having a phase-wise rollout, it may take some time to reach all the units. Meanwhile, you can head to Settings > Software updates > Security updates to check the update manually. We also suggest you switch over to a WiFi network before downloading the update to avoid data charges.
