Google’s New Service ‘Account Activity’ Introduced

In an effort to seem like they actually care about your privacy, the company announced today on its blog that you can now receive “Account Activity” reports in your inbox. Each month, Google will send you a password-protected report that will statistics on your email usage, search history, and latitude check ins and plot the data against your usage during the previous month. While it doesn’t really offer any benefits – at least not directly, you can use it to improve your account security. I.e. if you notice logins from a country that you’ve never been to, maybe it’s time you change your password or enable 2-step verification.
